The Great Commission
&
The Great Commandment
The Great Commandment:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind. This is the first and the greatest commandment. And the second is
like it: Love your neighbor [everyone] as yourself." (Mat.22:37-39)
The Great Commission:
"Go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."(Mat.28:19-20)
We consider the Great Commandment and the Great Commission to be
our guideline for our mission and ministry. We rely upon our members to do the
mission work of love and of evangelism. We encourage members to go out and
share their faith through word and deed in their various spheres of influence,
using the unique gifts God has given them. Some teach Bible classes, some
volunteer at youth summer camps, and still others share the love and the message
of God through their friendships.
On Sunday mornings we seek to provide a
worship service, which is relevant and
authentic as we present the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ. We offer various
entry-level opportunities to which members can invite friends and neighbors such
as Annual Outdoor Worship Service and Picnic, Friday Night Small Group, and
Bethel Bible Studies. Also, we participate in disaster relief through Church
World Service and support various world and local missions.
